Measurement-based inspection

SolarDetech is an inspection service that detects anomalies at panel level in solar plants. Thermal and RGB imagery collected by drone is processed through an end-to-end automatic pipeline. The result is a panel-level, prioritised anomaly list.

Method

The same three rules apply on every inspection.

Based on measurement

A panel is not counted as anomalous unless it shows a measurable temperature difference from its neighbours. Measurements are normalised to irradiance.

Verified across many images

Every panel is assessed from many images taken from different angles. A finding enters the report only when it is measured consistently in more than one image.

Every finding has a recorded source

For every finding in the report, the image and the measurement it came from are on record. If you want, you can go down to the panel's pixel-by-pixel temperature data.

Standards

Every site is flown to the same standard and accepted against the same criteria.

ClassificationThe IEC TS 62446-3 standard, at least 5×5 pixels per cell
Flight30 m AGL, RTK FIXED, lines crossing the panel rows
AcceptanceCoverage, row continuity, brightness uniformity, edge crispness

Company

Founding

SolarDetech was founded in Ankara to improve the efficiency and the sustainability of solar power plants.

Mission

We aim for solar plants to be operated more efficiently and more reliably. The way there is to measure every panel and keep its record.

Field

The platform was developed and validated with field data collected from a range of solar plants.
